“As People and Culture Lead I am deeply committed to the broader idea of mental wellbeing, reaching beyond the conventional focus on mental health. As the landscape of work continues to shift, nurturing authentic wellbeing within professional environments remains vital for both individuals and organisations.”

PEOPLE AND CULTURE LEAD

A woman with short brown hair smiling, wearing a colorful, patterned shirt over a blue T-shirt, against a plain gray background.

Emily’s role as People & Culture Lead is to enhance the employee experience and foster a positive work environment.

She initially joined Artefact as a Senior Heritage Consultant. After almost 15 years in the industry, she decided to retrain as a psychologist.

Emily is passionate about working with people to help realise the best of themselves in their teams and workplace. This role is a perfect symbiosis of her past and present passions.

Undertaking a Masters in Organisational Psychology, she is keen to develop Employment Assistance Programs that challenge convention — creating responsive, human centred support systems that adapt to the evolving realities of today’s workplace.

Emily’s artefact

Person wearing a colorful, patterned shirt and holding a ceramic jar with both hands.

“The backyard of the house I grew up in had been used as a rubbish dump for the late-nineteenth century hotel next door. As a kid, I couldn't believe the treasures that were there for me to explore Aboriginal stone tools, a rusted pistol, toy figurines, spectacles, and plenty of everyday tableware just like this stoneware pickle jar. Connecting those objects to real people in my imagination sparked my journey as a heritage consultant. ”
