I believe innovation works best when it is supported by strong governance, clear documentation, and a mindset that balances progress with responsibility. Good technology isn’t just innovative, it’s intentional

ICT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

A man with dark hair and a beard wearing a light blue button-up shirt facing the camera against a plain gray background.

For Martin, technology is about people and responsibility - Systems should empower teams and be designed thoughtfully and sustainably.

Martin is passionate about extending the life of equipment through open-source technologies and practical engineering by reusing and repurposing hardware rather than discarding it.

In a rapidly evolving industry, reducing e-waste and building secure, efficient solutions is part of how he believes he can contribute beyond BAU operations.

Martin was drawn to Artefact because of its commitment to stewardship, care and long-term thinking.

Martin’s artefact

A traditional mate gourd with a metal straw and a decorative pen inside.

“My artefact is a traditional mate gourd from Uruguay, gifted to me by my mother more than 30 years ago. It has travelled with me across three continents and countless cities.

Mate is more than a drink; it is a ritual of connection, reflection and shared conversation. This gourd is a quiet reminder of where I come from, the importance of community, and the value of slowing down to think carefully before acting.

In a fast-moving technology landscape, it represents continuity and perspective, the balance between innovation and staying grounded.
