“My favourite part of being an archaeologist is getting to work with lots of different communities. It is incredibly rewarding to learn from so many people, and for me, it really cemented the importance of achieving positive heritage outcomes in all the work I do.”
Nicholas Turvey
HERITAGE CONSULTANT
Nicholas works within the Archaeology team as a Graduate Heritage Consultant. Coming into this role, he brings over three years’ experience working in the field, across a variety of First Nations and Historical excavations.
Nicholas loves the hands-on nature of the job. This led him to pursue a career as a sub-consultant archaeologist after graduating, where he was given the opportunity to work on archaeological sites within Sydney, and all-around NSW. Nicholas loves working outdoors (especially in the bush), so he appreciates any occasion to do so!
A highlight of his career was excavating a site only a 5 minute walk from his childhood home. Nicholas found uncovering the local heritage of the suburb he grew up in deepened my appreciation of his own heritage.
