ANITA

I am Artefact’s Director of Projects leading a team of over 30 heritage consultants. Working closely with the Managing Director I ensure our clients receive industry-best advice so that their projects can move forward with certainty.

As a solutions-focussed individual I believe open and honest communication always leads to the best project outcomes. Client satisfaction is my number one concern and I pride myself on having a flexible approach that can deal with unexpected changes in projects.

I have a broad range of expertise in heritage and archaeological practice and have worked in various capacities including excavation director, project manager, heritage advisor and technical lead.

ABOUT

ANITA

I’m proud to have worked on iconic sites including the UNESCO World Heritage listed sites of Old Government House and Parramatta Park, Sydney Opera House, Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area (KAVHA) Norfolk Island, Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne, as well as a number of State Heritage listed sites such as Central Station, Royal Botanic Gardens, and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

My 30 years of experience in archaeology and heritage management has meant I have worked across most industries including urban development, road and rail infrastructure, construction, and energy in Australia and overseas.

I’m passionate about the heritage sector and am currently president of the Australasian Society for Historical Archaeology (ASHA). I am also members of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), the World Archaeology Congress, and the National Archaeology Week Committee. Through these roles I am able to actively promote archaeological best practice and heritage conservation.

MY ARTEFACT

I chose my trowel because it is a symbol of the work that I do, and my philosophy to be curious and keep digging.
