SANDRA WALLACE, MANAGING DIRECTOR
Artefact was established in 2010 by Dr Sandra Wallace, who remains the company’s Managing Director.
What ever your heritage project we are here to assist. Country or city, desktop or fieldwork, we’ve covered most of New South Wales and ACT. Our advice and services are customised to offer the best guidance on how you can proceed, whatever your project type. We consult right across the scale from neighbourhood architectural practices to multinational developers. But don't take our word for it! Check out our testimonials from our clients.
PRACTICAL BUILT HERITAGE GUIDANCE
There’s a simple reason why Artefact was appointed to the Sydney Opera House Heritage Consultancy Panel: our expertise in built heritage. Demonstrating the depth and quality of our assessments and advice, we have been entrusted with working on this World Heritage Listed icon of the nation.
Jørn Utzon’s masterpiece isn’t the only house we’ve worked on. From suburban homes to major residential developments, clients value our thorough knowledge of the relevant legislation and planning controls. We also understand architectural history and heritage materials, ensuring that our advice is compliant with current codes and hands-on best practice. For this reason we’ve provided built heritage advice for railway stations across the Sydney network, to enable maximum passenger accessibility and rail fleet upgrades while retaining local character.
Whether you require built heritage assessment, cultural landscapes analysis, a detailed history or mapping, we understand your priorities. Our pro-active risk management approach helps you deliver compliant and attractive adaptations, particularly when timing is tight.
With a track record of providing pragmatic advice and efficient working methods, Artefact can assist with specialist assessment and building documentation:
