Artefact was established in 2010 by Dr Sandra Wallace, who remains the company’s Managing Director.

The theme of the 2023 Sydney Historical Archaeology Practitioners workshop is ‘Something New’ - recent historical archaeological discoveries and innovations.
We'll present a dynamic program of speakers featuring heritage professionals from both government and private consultancy firms who will share their latest findings with the wider archaeological community. Hear about discoveries from new dig sites, the latest research findings, site data, new technologies and recording techniques.
This one-day event includes the workshop, lunch, morning and afternoon tea and the famous archaeology bake-off.
