Albion Park M1 Princes Hwy bypass
Artefact’s archaeology team worked to guide the $630 million M1 Princes Highway bypass extension project (between Sydney and Bomaderry).
The project
Location: Albion Park on Dharawal Country
Artefact was engaged by Transport for NSW to conduct an Aboriginal archaeological survey at the site.
Heritage solution
The survey was done in accordance with Stage 2 of Transport for NSW's Procedure for Aboriginal Cultural Heritage consultation and investigation (PACHCI). The resulting report was used to guide the future planning of a bypass of Albion Park Rail.
The Albion Park Rail Bypass was completed in 2022. See Transport for NSW’s Albion Rail Bypass project webpage for further details.
