Walk on Dharug Country - Aerotropolis
The project
Location: Mersey Rd, Western Sydney on Dharug Country
Artefact were engaged to coordinate the Connecting with Country and Recognise Country processes for a new steel processing facility project in the Aerotropolis in western Sydney.
Artefact brought together the project team with local Knowledge Holders to discuss ideas for exploring opportunities for design process and practices to support connection to Country in built environment projects.

The solution
Artefact arranged a Walk on Country and Workshop which led by Aboriginal workshop facilitator Pearl Depoma and Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Officer, Hannah Matagia.
14 stakeholders attended with important outcomes including the client commissioning a Preliminary Public Art Plan and identifying outdoor communal areas for site users.
