Tactical Group has been involved in the Moorebank Intermodal and Logistics Park development from inception, working closely with their client Qube Holdings. Converting this former military site into a major freight hub has entailed consultation with many stakeholders, including the Department of Defence, Liverpool City Council, Heritage NSW, the Moorebank Heritage Group and the local Aboriginal community. Development Consent conditions for the project required significant heritage interpretation.
Artefact Heritage was engaged by Tactical, through Arcadis, to prepare high-level Heritage Interpretation Strategies. Subsequent Development Consent conditions required a combined, detailed Heritage Interpretation Plan be developed, and Artefact was again engaged to develop this plan. A key component for developing the Plan was community and stakeholder consultation with Registered Aboriginal Parties, the Moorebank Heritage Group, the Dept of Defence, and Liverpool City Council.
To date Tactical Group have delivered physical works with a total cost of $1.5 billion, and are continuing to do so for this nationally significant project.
Supporting the project is the online heritage resource recommended and developed by Artefact. The webpages on historic themes have been successfully incorporated into the Sydney Intermodal Terminal Alliance website.
