Artefact was established in 2010 by Dr Sandra Wallace, who remains the company’s Managing Director.

Artefact was established in 2010 by Dr Sandra Wallace, who remains the company’s Managing Director. The company focused initially on Aboriginal archaeology and heritage, but rapidly diversified to become an industry leader in historical archaeology and heritage.
OUR STORY
The team has since grown to meet the needs of numerous large-scale infrastructure and development contracts. Our track record and return business has enabled the company to expand to 35 staff, including one of the largest in-house teams of archaeologists and heritage consultants in New South Wales. This means that we can be responsive and productive to meet your needs – and that you’ll be working directly with our staff, not a virtual team.
Artefact’s capabilities continue to expand, with senior appointments since 2017 including nominated Excavation Directors, plus dedicated heritage interpretation, heritage architecture and history specialists. Because we’re a team, we integrate our services to offer the best solution for your unique needs.
