PRACTICAL HERITAGE TRAINING

HERITAGE TRAINING

COURSE

We know that your projects can sometimes be complex due to heritage considerations - so we’ve been working with the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia – NSW Division to create a basic training course on how heritage fits into rail, construction, and public works projects.

This short course is perfect if you are a public works engineer, a civil engineer or project manager. We developed the course for people who are new to the sector, or perhaps you have been doing it a while and need a refresher, or if you just want to learn best practice and get some hints and tips.

A TYPICAL SIX-HOUR COURSE

The course can be hosted online or in person and a typical 6-hour course will cover the following themes:

  • the value of heritage and the Burra Charter
  • an overview of heritage processes, permits and registers
  • an overview of heritage assessments for areas like Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal archaeology and built heritage
  • best practice in community consultation
  • ideas for mitigation like heritage interpretation
  • unexpected finds procedures.

We are happy to adapt the course to your needs, so contact us to discuss how we can help you and your team.
