We know that your projects can sometimes be complex due to heritage considerations - so we’ve been working with the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia – NSW Division to create a basic training course on how heritage fits into rail, construction, and public works projects.
This short course is perfect if you are a public works engineer, a civil engineer or project manager. We developed the course for people who are new to the sector, or perhaps you have been doing it a while and need a refresher, or if you just want to learn best practice and get some hints and tips.
A TYPICAL SIX-HOUR COURSE
The course can be hosted online or in person and a typical 6-hour course will cover the following themes:
the value of heritage and the Burra Charter
an overview of heritage processes, permits and registers
an overview of heritage assessments for areas like Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal archaeology and built heritage
best practice in community consultation
ideas for mitigation like heritage interpretation
unexpected finds procedures.
We are happy to adapt the course to your needs, so contact us to discuss your how we can help you and your team.
