HISTORICAL HERITAGE EVALUATIONS AND PLANS
Artefact offers a wealth of heritage experience and expertise across all levels of government, and all regions of NSW. We’ve prepared assessments against World Heritage, National Heritage and Commonwealth Heritage values under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Working across both federal and state legislation, for instance, we evaluated potential heritage impacts at Sydney Airport under the Significant Impact Guidelines and the Airport Master Plan, providing clear advice on how this vital project could proceed.
We regularly provide assessment and management guidance under the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. One prominent example was heritage advice and monitoring for the removal of portions of the Sydney Harbour Bridge parapet, as part of the Step-free Access project for this iconic structure. Our recommendations balanced utility and access with deep respect for the fabric of the Bridge.
As highly experienced project leaders, Artefact has been lead consultant on many major projects. Our planning and management systems ensure that projects are completed in a timely, professional manner, working in partnership with our clients.
