DWJV commissioned Artefact to prepare a Heritage Management Sub Plan, and to undertake archaeological test excavation and salvage excavation within the proposed impact footprints. Managed by Artefact’s Excavation Director, Dr Iain Stuart, this work was completed with Deerubbin Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC). Working together, Artefact and DWJV ensured that complex statutory and stakeholder requirements were met. Once excavation was completed, selected archaeological materials were salvaged for use by Deerubbin LALC, while historical artefacts were kept for heritage interpretation installations.
Artefact coordinated work across four heritage-listed sites in the Parramatta CBD to provide appropriate recording, reporting, consultation and interpretation outcomes for DWJV.
Our components were delivered on time and within budget, enabling DWJV to successfully complete their light rail enabling works.
