JENNIFER

I am experienced in built heritage conservation in urban and regional contexts. I will be providing advice for the management, conservation, stabilisation and adaptive reuse of structures and assets. I look forward to working collaboratively with professional staff as well as consultants and contractors.

ABOUT

JENNIFER

I am trained as an architect and have lived on the east coast and the west coast of Australia, as well as the regionally in the Northern Territory.

While my experience is not limited to heritage work, I enjoy the challenge of working with older structures and developing my knowledge of traditional design practices and building trades.

"I believe that pursuing conservation works generally offers economic value and sustainable outcomes."

MY ARTEFACT

My artefact is a ceramic cup that I made, then broke and repaired using the traditional Japanese kintsugi method using the sap of the urushi tree as glue and finishing the repair with gold. The art of putting broken items back together with gold and embracing the flaws and imperfections is believed to create a stronger more beautiful piece of art.
