I am a qualified accountant with over 15 years of professional experience in financial, analytical and management accounting in a range of industries such as non-for-profit, federal and commercial sectors. As the Finance manager for Artefact, I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the finance functions, preparation of financial, management and statutory reporting. In addition, I’m responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate financial policies, procedures and internal controls to support efficient and effective operations of the finance functions. My motto in life is to never stop learning, whether it is improving your existing skills or learning a new hobby. Outside work I enjoy painting, gardening, dancing, reading and walking my fur babies.
My passion for heritage comes from the place I grew up. I was born in the picturesque state of Kerala located in the south of India, which is well known for its rich history, backwaters, spices, Ayurveda, hill resorts and house boats. I grew up in a house that was built in early 1901. Some of the fondest memories of my childhood were of lying on my grandma’s lap, listening to her stories and looking over the wooden beams and the intricate carvings on the pillars that adorned the veranda of our home. I always loved visiting old palaces, temples and monumental buildings and felt mesmerised and intrigued by the intricate craftsmanship, structural integrity and the mathematical precisions which they were built, in an era where they didn’t have the privilege of utilizing modern computer technologies and tools.
I feel blessed to be part of Artefact's family, it is not always that you are able to work in an industry that you are passionate about.
My 'artefact' is the people, plants, and the animals around me. There is no greater feeling than knowing that you made a difference in someone else’s life and seeing animals feel safe and protected around you.
